We have built a solid base of operations with volunteer leadership. After six
years of success -- with strong skills in many areas -- our Board needs help to
accomplish the goals of our land protection program.
|
 |
The Land Conservancy is supported by members who share our love of the land. We
treasure the great natural landscape that defines quality-of-place in Cincinnati
and its suburbs -- and in the cities, townships and villages across Hamilton
County. We believe that the "highest and best" use of land is to conserve
it to protect the life-sustaining benefits it provides.
|
 |
We were founded by citizens concerned about the loss of precious land and farms
in the County. Our defining hillsides, natural habitat, neighborhood greenspaces
and agricultural lands are at risk, endangered by ongoing development pressures.
|
 |
Our work is to help conserve significant parcels of privately owned land in
Hamilton County so it may continue to be a resource for future generations. How?
We provide legal land protection options -- including the Conservation Easement
agreement -- to conservation-minded landowners. We help families permanently
protect their lands for its scenic and open space, historic or agricultural
values. And, we create neighborhood nature preserves and greenways by purchasing
parcels of land, and also by seeking donations of land.
|
 |
The Land Conservancy's outreach to the public is to build support for our work.
We want people to understand how everyone benefits when landowning families
preserve their lands. Also, that responsible land use – and conserving Hamilton
County's great natural assets -- is crucial to our County's economic growth and
quality of life.
|
 |
Our all-volunteer effort needs help to take us to the next level. We have begun
a countywide search for three new Board members.
|
We need:
1. someone to
help us raise funds to accomplish our land conservation mission;
2. someone
to help us build membership and take our important message to the public;
3. someone
to help with planning, including creating a Strategic Plan.
If you share our vision for protecting land in Hamilton County, please let us
know.
